SpheriStat 2 was designed originally for Windows 3.1 and uses the file and printer functions from that version of Windows. It was not designed to run on a network, nor is it licensed to do so. One of the consequences of this fact is that users running SpheriStat (both demonstration and full versions) on a computer connected to a networked printer will encounter difficulties. In particular, SpheriStat fails to operate after the initial dialog window is closed. This problem arises because at that point, the program is querying the printer driver for page size information for the print preview mode. When the printer driver is local to the computer, this procedure occurs without any problems. However, when the printer driver is located on a server, SpheriStat will crash. The only workaround we have found is to install a local printer driver on the computer and set it to default prior to running SpheriStat.
